Romanian Culture Introduction Culture can be defined as the way of life associated with a community or a group of people, including their beliefs, traditions, rituals, art, behavior, and thoughts. It describes the â€Å"shared patterns of belief, feeling, and adaptation, which people carry in their minds† (Storey 45). Thus, culture can be conceptualized as an organized set of ideas, habits, as well as conditioned responses shared by members of a given society. This paper discusses the concept of culture by focusing on the Romanian culture. The physical geography of Romania, its weather pattern, contributions and civil considerations will also be discussed by evaluating the factors of ASCOPE. Characteristics that Define Culture A typical culture has the following characteristics. Firstly, culture may be learned and acquired over time (Storey 56). The various beliefs, values, or traditions shared by the population can only be considered cultural, if they can be learned and shared. Culture can be learned or acquired through imitation, indoctrination, and conditioning. Secondly, culture may be transmitted in the society over time. This means that it must be passed on to future generations through communication and understanding. Thirdly, culture is a social phenomenon (Storey 61). It may be normally developed through the interaction of individuals within a large group, such as a society. Fourthly, culture can be developed through ideology. Ideas and symbols are indispensable tools that may be used to give meaning to individuals’ experiences and their environment in various cultures. Thus, individuals tend to perceive their world in accordance with the stand-point of their culture. Fifthly, culture faci litates the satisfaction of hu... ...omanian. The other common language is Hungarian, which is spoken by seven percent of the population. About 1.5 percent of the population speaks German and Romanian. Conclusion From the above discussion, culture can be described as an organized set of ideas, habits, as well as conditioned responses that are shared by members of a given society. Every community or country has a culture that is unique to it. The Romanian culture is characterized by rich tradition, ethnical artifacts, and folklore (Brace 24). The interactions between Romanians and the tribes that invaded the region helped in developing and shaping the Romanian culture. Despite the effect of such interactions, the main elements of Romanian culture, such as traditions and folklore should be preserved. Today, young Romanians, especially those living in the cities, tend to adopt the western lifestyle.

Describe a Few of the Interesting Characters in Your Class Essay

My class is full of wonderful characters that make all of us cheerful to study. There are twenty-two students in my class and only seven of them are boys. Our form teacher is Encik Azmi bin Nusi. We have a wonderful monitor who does every job given to her responsibly. She is Uma Devi a/p Nagiah and she never complains about doing jobs without an assistant. Most of the students are Malays. There are only four Indian girls and four Chinese students. Our class is one of the noisiest class because of the interesting characters we have. Uma Devi is chosen to be our monitor mainly because of her gutsiness to confront some of the rebellious students who are usually Azizi and Amin in our class. Were the students agreed? They definitely were. Hardly any objection was voiced to choose Uma as the monitor. With 170 centimetres tall and a loud voice that can crack any dreams, she is the perfect choice. Although this Indian girl is very strict, she also has a good sense of humour. That is why many of us cannot despise her for a long time. Moreover, she is very pretty with two long braided black hair and a smile, which is not very often she does. She seldom smile but when she does, it is just like a sun shining after down pouring rain. We will always feel very glad and relieved to see her smile. Her seriousness in doing her job is commendable and she is helpful too, to get a new dateline for our homeworks from the teacher. Due to that, we always admire and respect her. Describing the interesting characters in my class, I find it difficult to leave Rosmaliza behind. She is a very peculiar and interesting girl in our class. She is only 155 centimetres tall but she was slim with beautiful features. The sleepyhead in our class? She definitely is the one and only. We could not stop laughing when thinking about her embarrassing situations in our class. There was a time when Mr. Ling, our Additional Mathematics teacher was teaching in our class and dear Rosmaliza was sleeping. Mr. Ling noticed she was asleep and called out her name to wake her up and she did wake up. Waking up and mumbling incoherently, she suddenly stood up and towards the blackboard, thinking that Mr. Ling wanted her to complete some questions on the board. After some awkward silence, she returned to her seat looking red all over. All the classmates burst out laughing at her act. But she remained impassive, although her red face revealed what she felt. Another thing that we find funny is the way she laughed. It was loud and sounded like a cackle. That is so unforgettable and can be said as her ‘trademark’. The other character in my class that I found interesting is Fozie. He is quite a humorist with the loyal companion, Ja’far. Fozie is very funny and he could cause a hullaballoo with his spontaneous jokes. He is 162 centimetres tall and has a cute, mischievous face. However, he does not get into a lot of trouble with his mischief. He is quite adorable because of his helpfulness and politeness. He is surely the best guy in our class. Another thing that we found amazing about him is the way he mesmerized school’s juniors. Many students, especially girls from lower form adore and admire him. The reason? Maybe it simply because of his friendliness and some cute bangs over his forehead. However, he is a reliable guy that we could depend on to please some teachers whenever some of them are angry. All that I can conclude from these interesting characters is that they are wonderful to be with. Although some of them are weird, but the difference can only add up the speciality. Plus, they definitely bring colours of joy and mischief in our world as a student. Life in school would simply be so boring without them.

The protagonist of the novel, Guy Montag, is a fireman that started questioning his beliefs about love, society and mainly questioning his job as an enemy of books, and the use of fire. This essay will discuss how does Montag understands fire through the novel and how fire is presented in the book. At the very beginning of novel, Montag is shown as a fireman that was filled with pleasure when books were burned. This idea is condense by Bradbury at the end of the novel through the character named Granger. The theatre was completely filled. The event was formal and the audience consisted mostly of old middle to old aged people. The arrangement of the instruments on the stage was as follows: violins on left side and in the middle, violas, bass and cellos on the right side, timpani on the far right side, bassoons, horns, and oboes at the very far middle of the stage and, lastly, trumpets, flutes, and clarinets in the middle between violins and bassoons, horns, and oboes. The idea for the soloists’ performance comes from the chamber concerto form. The solo players performed periodically through the symphony. The piece included three movements: fast-slow-fast. In the first movement, the soloists are supported by background harmonies. In the second movement, the soloists are playing together by taking turns with the background orchestra playing quietly like whispers. The final movement is more lively and spirited. The third piece is Musica Celestis, composed by Aaron Jay Kernis in 1990. Its orchestration includes strings only. Its duration was 13 minutes. It is filled with warm harmonies. The beginning is very soft and deep (piano). As it goes along, the pitch and the dynamics become deeper, louder and more passionate. Scales keep ascending quickly, as if it is reaching a climax, until a full sudden stop is reached. After that, the music returns slowly and becomes deeper towards the end. This was my favorite piece in this whole performance. The listener can plunge into deep affectionate feelings. It was easy to imagine a scenario or a story by listening to its soft well-connected harmonies. The final piece named Symphony No. 1 in C major, Op.21 composed by Beethoven in 1800. In each of these instances, he stood up to defend the Protestant religion, and the parliamentary system. This does not indicate greed or him being power hungry but merely trying to make the correct decision to avoid civil wars under difficult conditions, where the king and the royalists was powerful and popular and religion was extremely important to people. This is also obvious in his decision to not accept the crown because he wanted to abolish the monarchy system, and did not believe in the king’s right to be head of church and the head of kingdom. Oliver Cromwell also expelled sixty corrupt members of parliament. On the other hand, in 1647, after Charles I was executed, England became a Republic. Parliament abolished the monarchy and the House of Lords. But a group of people wanted bigger changes, and challenged the control of Parliament. These were the ‘Levellers’. The levellers didn’t get what they wanted, and two years later, the members of Parliament rejected their ideas again. They thought the levellers were a serious threat to their power. Rumours spread that the levellers, in rage, were planning to seize power. Cromwell decided to arrest them for treason in 1649, and were locked in the Tower of London. In 1657, the members of Parliament surprised Cromwell by asking him to become king. He refused the crown, but had in effect, taken all the powers of being king. This made him seem greedy to some of the people of England had his enemies, but heroic to others. This action was controversial. Being a Puritan, Cromwell believed that theatres were evil and closed them all down in England. He also took away Christmas and Easter holidays because they were not mentioned in the Bible. Church services were made simpler, and music, statues, and stained glass windows were taken away from churches. This made him unpopular with the people of England. To conclude, I believe that Oliver Cromwell was a man who tried to take the right decisions and actions in very at very challenging situations. However his religious views and his personality, he was a deeply religious man, who seems to have been tortured by doubts of discovering God’s will for him and his country. He was at one time revolutionary, who executed Charles I to defend the parliamentary system, and yet executing the Levellers for giving parliament more power by representing people for equally.
