Pennsylvania’s state licensure requirements were obtained through the Department of Services website under the State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors. State Board Identifying Information In the state of Pennsylvania, the licensing board for licensed professional counselors is called the State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors. (3) To test for, reject, accept, issue, rescind, suspend, or renew licenses of bachelor social workers, social workers, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists and professional counselors pursuant to this act and to hold hearings in relation therewith. (4) To hold hearings upon complaints relating to violations of different areas of this act and guidelines and stipulations incorporated in relation to this act and pursue prosecution of and enjoinder of all said violations. (5) To allocate funds needed to appropriately carry out assigned duties. (6) To waive testing and extend licensure in cases deemed extraordinary by the board in compliance with stipulations disseminated by the board.
